DAY 1 - TRANSFER:

Game Drives in South Africa

Travel on shuttle from Durban International (08:30) or Durban Central (09:00).
Every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
Enjoy an afternoon at leisure. Dinner at Gazebo Safari Lodge (19:00).

DAY 2 - WILDLIFE - HLUHLUWE/iMFOLOZI GAME RESERVE:

Famous for its conservation efforts for saving the White Rhino from extinction the park is home of the Rhino capture unit that to this day successful runs a relocation and anti-poaching program. The park now boasts a fifth of the world's black and white rhino population, and also hosts the Big Five and endangered species like the wild dog.

Depart at 05:30 (packed breakfast) for a full day guided safari to Hluhluwe/iMfolozi game reserve. Lunch for own account. Dinner at the lodge (19:00).

 

DAY 3 - WETLANDS - THE GREATER ST LUCIA WETLAND PARK (ISIMANGALISO):

The 328 000 ha reserve was South Africa's first world heritage site, and incorporates an astonishingly variety of habitats, endangered species and diverse wildlife; from Big Five to the largest mammal, the Humpedback Whale.


Transfer departs after breakfast (08:00) to St Lucia Wetland Park (World Heritage Site)
for a full day guided tour. Enjoy a safari through the Wetland Park, a boat cruise on the estuary, visit viewpoints and snorkel or just sunbath at Cape Vidal beach. Short hiking opportunities are available. Lunch is included. (Events are arranged according to tides.) Dinner at Gazebo Safari Lodge (19:00).

DAY 4 - ZULU CULTURE:

One of the most notable differences between the area and other destinations is the nature of the people who live in it. The Zulu culture is an intrinsic feature of the area that was once the hunting ground of the famous King Shaka.

After breakfast join (at 9:00) a walking tour of a rural school and village depicting modern tribal living and cultural customs applied today. The duration is 3 hours.
Enjoy lunch for own account at Illala Weavers Gallery, internationally recognised for uplifting rural woman by creating demand for traditional hand-woven Zulu baskets.
The museum boasts collector items of antique Zulu beadwork. Enjoy (at 15:15) a tour of a traditional Zulu village. This live-in museum features cultural rituals of the Zulu people, weaving, crafting and Zulu dancing. Dinner at Gazebo Safari Lodge (19:00).

DAY 5 - DEPART:

South Africa Game Drives

Enjoy an early guided safari to Hluhluwe/iMfolozi game reserve (05:30). Return to the lodge for breakfast. Depart to Durban International or Durban Central between 12:00 and 13:00 . (Every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.)

In the event of the reservation being cancelled within 30 days before arrival date 50% of the pro-forma invoice will be charged as a cancellation fee.
